I am interested in very early cognitive and language development in infants and young children, and have recently been studying how toddlers who have been internationally adopted learn English as a "second first language." I also study the origins and consequences of sustained interests and expertise in young children - particularly expertise in domains related to science and the implication so such expertise for later science achievement motivation.
