Getting Started
Your freshman year in college is a crucially important year, and it is absolutely necessary to understand that this year will not simply be an extension of high school. Please read the section titled How Do College Freshmen Perceive the Differences Between High School and College? and view the PowerPoint titled The Transition from High School to College to discover (1) the very real academic differences you will experience when you become a college freshman and (2) the strategies that can enable you to adapt successfully to these differences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Characteristics (KSCs)
Once you have adapted to the culture of higher education, it will be time for you to identify the types of careers you can enter; become aware of the knowledge, skills, and characteristics (KSCs) necessary to enter these careers; develop a plan to acquire these KSCs.
